Why don't you care?

Every morning, you're faced with a choice. Put effort into getting dressed, or just throw on whatever your hand happens to hit first. I feel like a lot of people always choose the second option, and I don't really understand why. I suppose it comes from a lack of caring, which stems from laziness and tiredness when you first wake up in the morning, which is understandable. But carelessness leads to a sloppy appearance, and looking slovenly all the time does not do wonders to self esteem. Honestly, I always feel much better when I look presentable than when I have one of those days where I throw on random articles of clothing (usually after a massive homework assignment is due). I don't care when I wake up in the morning, but I know that I will later when I'm fully awake and cognizant of what I look like.
When you wake up in the morning, don't think about how tired you are and how much you really don't want to try. Think about how you'll feel later on in the day slouching around in your sweats. Comfy? Yes. But probably also a little disheveled. Just putting in an extra five minutes, maybe throwing on the second or third thing your hand comes across, will make you feel so much better in the long run, even though you might not care in the moment.
